A pinhole camera obscura + audio installation. The sonic obscura is the result of an Immersive Arts UK funded project exploring how audio can augment the analogue projected imagery inside a camera obscura. There are 65 projected images inside formed by tiny holes in the walls as well as 9 'ears' on stalks which are listening to the sounds outside the obscura and bringing them inside. The result is an immersive space for looking closely and listening deeply to the surroundings.
The Sonic Obscura is open to visitors to my studio during Artmap Argyll open studios in 2026. More information on the open studios on social media.
